All children enjoy being appropriately challenged and at a young age most are keen to explore what they are capable of. The New Forest Primary School Sport programme (now in its 13th year) provides a wealth of Level 2 sports competitions for pupils in Years 1 to 6. Pupils compete against their fellow pupils at level 1. Schools then compete against other schools at level 2 (we encourage our schools to enter B, C and D teams to allow everyone who wants to the chance to compete to do so). The winning teams from our level 2 events will represent their school and the New Forest at the Hampshire Finals in June each year (level 3).

Primary PE and Sport Premium
In March 2013 the government announced its commitment to providing additional ring fenced funding of £150 million per annum to improve provision of Physical Education (PE) and Sport in primary schools in England.
The vision for all pupils by the time they leave primary school is to be physically literate with the knowledge, skills and understanding to equip them for a healthy lifestyle and lifelong participation in physical activity and sport.
Prime Minister David Cameron announced in February 2014 that the Government have committed to funding for the Primary PE and Sport Premium to 2020.
