Energy Clubs encourage children aged 4-11 to play and learn about healthy food choices through fun, physical activities.
We work closely with Sports Leaders UK to provide certificated training and support for leaders and staff at our primary schools to prepare them to deliver 30 minute extra-curricular activity sessions and empower a new generation to make their own healthy choices.
How does it work?
Sports Leaders UK will support you to recruit leaders and staff and will deliver a certificated training day. Following training, you will be provided with equipment, resources and structured activity cards to help run the extra-curricular club as well as support for the leaders/staff
Training will include an introduction to the PlayMaker Award which aims to give children the skills and knowledge to be able to assist in leading their own games and activities.
How is the Energy Club Award delivered?
The New Forest School Sport Partnership will provide a venue for the training. Training will cover the core elements of leadership and how to put them into practice in an Energy Club setting.
Energy Clubs can be delivered by anyone who has undertaken the Energy Club Leader Award and is over 16 years old. Energy Club Leaders include: teachers/teaching assistants, parents, lunchtime supervisors, PTA members, community leaders or Sports Leaders from a local secondary school.
Certificates will be awarded once the staff and leaders have completed the core elements for the Award.
